One of these companies that accept young teen writers to work and write articles for them is WireTap.org. The website publishes articles targeted for young people which is why they are looking for young writers between the ages 16 and 28 years old who are looking for free lance writing jobs to write for them.
What to Write
Because targeted readers of WireTap are young people, creative writers for the company can write relevant things pertinent to the young generation. These may include issues and situations that affect young people most. They may also write about their views on current news and issues and how these affect them. Preferred subjects though include education, human rights, technology, environment and relationships. Writers may write investigative stories, opinions, reviews and news reports. For writers who are interested in writing news report or features though, the company requires writers to use direct quotes when interviewing people. Of course, young writers should also adhere to basic journalism and reporting ethics if they want to do well with telecommuting writing jobs. Length of articles for submission should ideally be not less than 800 words and not more than 1800 words.
Submission and Payment
Writers are encouraged to send a one paragraph story idea to Submissions(@)WireTapMag.org. before they start writing their articles along with a resume and at least two sample articles. Writers whose articles are published are paid somewhere between $50 to 250 for each story. The best thing about submitting a story to this site is that you are still able to republish your work in post them in other sites as well as long as you notify the publishers of the WireTap and mention in your reprint where the story first appeared.
Young people who are based in Chicago, Atlanta and Boston may check out the site to see whether they are qualified for this creative writing job.
